Ingredient Notes
Alcoholic Version
- Sparkling wine or champagne: Adds the signature bubbly texture and festive flair.
- Vodka: Enhances the boozy kick; add more or less based on your preference.
- Sparkling white grape or orange juice (chilled): Balances the flavors and keeps the shots light and fruity.
- Fresh lemon juice: Adds citrus flavor and a subtle tang.
- Unflavored Gelatin: Use enough to ensure the shots set firmly, as alcohol weakens gelatin.
- Sweetener (monk fruit or sugar): Adds just the right amount of sweetness.
- Garnish (optional): Top with sprinkles, edible gold leaf, or sugar for a decorative touch.
Non-Alcoholic Version
- Sparkling white grape or apple juice (chilled): Serves as the bubbly base for this kid-friendly option.
- Fresh lemon juice: Provides a hint of zesty flavor.
- Gelatin: Use slightly less than the alcoholic version for a softer texture.
- Sweetener (monk fruit or sugar): Balances the tang from the juice.
- Garnish (optional): Sprinkles, edible gold leaf, or sugar add a festive finish.

Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: In a saucepan, combine juice (white grape, apple, or fruit juice) and envelopes of gelatin. Let sit for 5 minutes so the gelatin softens—this is the best way to ensure a smooth, lump-free texture.
Step 2: Warm the gelatin mixture over low heat, stirring gently. Don’t let it boil, as this can weaken the gelatin.
Step 3: For the non-alcoholic version, stir in sugar and lemon juice until dissolved. For the boozy version, remove from heat before adding vodka and a cup of champagne to preserve its bubbles.
Step 4: Using a pouring spout, transfer the jello mixture into your silicone mold or small plastic cups. Refrigerate for 3–4 hours until firm.
Step 5: Add sprinkles, edible gold leaf, or pop rocks just before serving for that extra festive flair!

Recipe FAQs
Absolutely! Ginger ale, orange juice, or even a mix of fruit juice works beautifully in this recipe.
A high-quality vodka with a clean, neutral flavor works best so it doesn’t overpower the delicate flavors of the champagne and juice. Here are a few options to consider: Tito’s, Absolut, or New Amsterdam.
Look for a bottle labeled “Brut” or “Extra Dry” under $20 that you’d enjoy drinking on its own. Since the champagne is mixed with other ingredients, there’s no need to splurge on an expensive bottle. You can also use sparkling wine alternatives like Prosecco, Cava, or a sparkling Rose.
Serve them in plastic shot glasses or disposable small cups for easy cleanup, or use silicone molds for fun shapes like stars or hearts. You can also pour the mixture into a square pan, let them chill, and then cut into bite-size squares.
Yes! Prepare these a day in advance and garnish right before serving for freshness.

- 1 cup cup sparkling wine or champagne
- 1/4 cup vodka
- 1 cup sparkling white grape or apple juice chilled

The directions for the non alcoholic version doesn’t make sense – could you clarify the second addition of the sparkling juice section?
I’m confused.. how much juice do I add to bloom? I put it all in and then got to the next step where it says to add..
Sorry for the confusion. I just clarified the directions. You do bloom the gelatin in the grape juice. Then you heat rest of ingredients after blooming. So sorry!
