The Fourth of July is right around the corner and you better believe my brand new Awesome Sauce Deviled Eggs with Bacon are a must have on my menu. Growing up, my Grandma Sue Sue always made the best deviled eggs and served them at every holiday and family gatherings. My goal was to develop a recipe that kept her memory alive but was different from the traditional deviled egg recipe.

Awesome Sauce Deviled Eggs

When sitting down to create this recipe I knew I wanted to use my famous Awesome Sauce that is really life changing. Instead of using the traditional mustard and mayo, I decided to use this sauce as the main base to the deviled eggs. My Awesome Sauce consists of diced onions, salt, pepper and coconut aminos. This mixture gives the egg yolks an amazing creaminess and flavor. To bring this recipe together, I garnished with fresh chives and crispy bacon.

Mac's Awesome Sauce

In addition to serving these at family gatherings, summer BBQ’s or holidays, my Awesome Sauce Deviled Eggs recipe is a great as a low-carb snack. Not only are these Keto friendly, but they are also Whole30 compliant and dairy-free. If you are looking for a great Sunday meal prep option for grab and go snacks, these are a wonderful addition.

What is the best way to get the perfect boiled egg that is easy to peel?

Before diving in and really figuring out all the different ways to cook the perfect hard boiled egg, I refused to make them. I use 3 different cooking methods and all have proved to result in the perfect boiled egg that is easy to peel. Below are my favorite ways to get the perfect boiled egg every single time.

Boiling:

  1. Boil the eggs for 7 minutes over medium-high heat.
  2. After the 7 minutes is up, transfer the eggs to a large bowl with ice cold water and ice and let them cool for a couple of minutes.
  3. Peel the eggs immediately after cooling and serve.

Instant Pot:

  1. Place 1 cup water in inner pot of Instant Pot.
  2. Add in egg or steam rack and carefully set as many eggs as desired on or in rack.
  3. Place lid on pressure cooker and set for cook time for 5 minutes on high pressure.
  4. Once cook time has elapsed, let pressure release for 5 minutes.
  5. Peel the eggs immediately after cooling and serve.

Muffin Tin in the Oven:

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
  2. Place one egg in each cup in a muffin tin.
  3. Bake eggs for 20 to 30 minutes for your desired level of doneness. Eggs in the oven will take 20 minutes for very soft boiled, 30 minutes for fully hard boiled. …
  4. Meanwhile, prepare a pot of ice water
  5. After cooking, transfer the eggs to a large bowl with ice cold water and ice and let them cool for a couple of minutes.
  6. Peel the eggs immediately after cooling and serve.

Are these Awesome Sauce Deviled Eggs considered Whole30 and Keto?

Yes! I created this recipe to specifically meet the Whole30 and Keto guidelines. In my own lifestyle, I try to intertwine both Keto and Whole30 together and have found that deviled eggs really serve as both a great protein and snack option.

How long do these Awesome Sauce Deviled Eggs last in the fridge?

My rule for hard boiled or deviled eggs is no longer than 3 days. It is equally important to keep an eye on how long they sit out at room temperature. If eggs are left out, especially boiled or cooked eggs, bacteria will grow at a rapid pace. My recommendation is leaving these eggs in the fridge until right before serving. If there are leftovers and you’re questioning whether or not they will be okay, throw them out. Food poisoning is not fun!
