What Makes This Recipe Great
Cranberry is the flavor of the season, and this cranberry gin cocktail is the perfect festive drink!
This holiday season, make gin and cranberry juice your signature cocktail for any occasion. My 5-minute cranberry gin recipe is easy to make and easy to share. It’s like a cranberry gin and tonic, but even better. This gin fizz is sweet, tart, bubbly, and delicious.
Serve with dried orange, sugared cranberries, and a sprig of rosemary for a drink as beautiful as it is tasty!
Ingredients Notes
See the full list of ingredients in the recipe card below.
- Gin: I used Empress1908 gin which is my favorite for gin drinks. Use whichever dry gin is your favorite.
- Lemon Juice: You can also use lime juice if preferred.
- Cranberry Juice: You can use a cranberry juice cocktail or 100% cranberry juice. Whichever you prefer.
- Simple Syrup: Optional if you like your cocktails a bit sweeter. Can also use sugar free simple syrup.
- Orange Bitters: Use any brand that you like.
- Orange Juice: You can use orange juice with or without pulp. When you strain the drink the pulp will not transfer.
- Ginger Beer: I like this cranberry gin cocktail with ginger beer. You can also use tonic water or soda water if you prefer.
- Garnish: Dried oranges, candied cranberries, and a sprig of rosemary. Feel free to swap in a lime wedge and fresh cranberries if that’s what you have on hand.
Recipe Step by Step
- Add ingredients to a cocktail shaker except for the ginger beer. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
- Strain over a glass filled with ice and top off with ginger beer. Garnish with dried orange, candied cranberries, and a rosemary sprig. Enjoy!
Mac’s Pro Tip
Pro Tips
Pitcher: If you’d like to make a pitcher of this recipe to serve 8-10 people, here is the adjusted recipe.
- 14 oz Gin
- 3 oz lemon juice
- 20 oz cranberry juice
- 6 tablespoons simple syrup
- 20 dashes of orange bitters
- 8 oz orange juice
- 12 oz of ginger beer
Sugared Cranberries: You can garnish with fresh cranberries or use my recipe for candied cranberries.
Skinny Cocktail: Follow these swaps if you want to make this cranberry gin cocktail “skinny”. Use unsweetened cranberry juice, monk fruit sweetener, or Swerve for the simple syrup, and use soda water instead of ginger beer.
Dried Oranges: You can find dried oranges for the garnish at most local grocery stores in the dried fruit section. Trader Joe’s and Sprouts have a nice selection as well.
Recipe FAQ
You can use unsweetened cranberry juice or a cranberry juice cocktail. Oftentimes, the cranberry juice cocktail has added sugar in it, so I would omit the simple syrup if you don’t like your drinks too sweet.
Yes! See the recipe card below for how to turn this cocktail into a pitcher!
I used Empress1908 gin for this recipe, but you can use Roku, Tanqueray, Beefeater, or your favorite dry gin.
