What Makes This Recipe Great

Traditional ranch dressing is one of those magical sauces that makes almost everything taste better. Today, I’m introducing you to my fantastic dairy-free Homemade Ranch Dressing. The quality and taste of this dressing are off the charts! It is so much better than the store-bought dressings you get at the grocery store that have ingredients in them you can’t even pronounce.

Not only is it super creamy ranch, but it also packs a punch of flavor. This dressing has simple and healthy ingredients, is super tasty, and takes just minutes to make. Simply use my homemade 60-second mayo recipe and combine coconut milk, vinegar, dried herbs, and lemon juice. Usually, I use an immersion blender, but if you don’t have one, no worries. Use a food processor to combine the ingredients until smooth and creamy.

The same delicious ranch flavor as your favorite classic ranch, but so much healthier and clean ingredients!

Ingredient Notes

This recipe has super simple ingredients and ranch lovers, you will absolutely love it! It has less than 1 net carb per serving. Use it as a veggie dip or dressing, and enjoy! See more notes and details in the printable recipe card below.

recipe ingredients in small bowls and labeled
  • mayonnaise: You can use Greek yogurt if not dairy-free. Use your favorite brand, or try my homemade mayo!
  • sea salt
  • fresh dill weed
  • apple cider vinegar, or white vinegar
  • coconut milk: I used canned, unsweetened coconut milk because it’s thicker, and I like the consistency. You can try unsweetened almond milk or another non-dairy milk if desired. If not dairy-free, you can use heavy cream or whole milk.
  • spices: You’ll need dried or fresh parsley, dried chives, garlic powder, and onion powder for this recipe, or use my homemade ranch seasoning recipe.
  • cracked black pepper

Just tried to make your mayo recipe for the second time….. can’t figure out why mine doesn’t get thick. It’s the right color and tastes ok, but it super thin in consistency. What am I missing?!

    1. Ashley McCrary says:

You have to make sure you are using LIGHT olive oil. Extra virgin olive oil will not work. You also need to hold your immersion blender on top of the egg and count to 10 Mississippi and it will begin to thicken.

    2. Nichole says:

My recommendations would be to make sure your egg is at room temperature first. Pour your oil into the mixture very slowly- very slowly.

This is seriously the best ranch dressing! After trying different store bought Whole 30 compliant ranches, I basically gave up on finding anything I liked. This is a game changer! The flavors are so wonderful and it is thick enough to be a dip if you want. It is also very easy. I won’t be buying ranch at the grocery store again! Thank you so much for creating delicious, real foods recipes!

This is one of those recipes that you take to family functions to impress all of your relatives!! My dad has had a heart attack and a quadruple bypass surgery, but won’t even consider giving Whole 30 a try. I love bringing Whole 30 food over and impressing him with how good it is. I took this ranch to him yesterday and he was amazed by how good it is! He asked for me to send the recipe to my step mom, because it’s so much better than the ranch she makes using hidden valley’s seasoning packs.

    1. Ashley McCrary says:

This makes me so incredibly happy! Thank you.

Think of your favorite restaurant ranch then make it healthy and whole 30! This is the most amazing, game changing whole 30 must have. I literally put it on EVERYTHING. I like mine way more peppery- and you can totally make and customize this to your liking!

  9. Natasha says:

I make this nearly every week. It is a staple in our house. My husband says he will never eat store bought ranch again! I love this recipe.

Make this recipe you will not regret it.

    1. Ashley McCrary says:

  10. Lee says:

I love this ranch and make it all the time. I a big fan of the whole food concept and my skin looks great with eating whole Foods. My family weren’t fans of this dressing because they could taste the coconut milk. I tried making it with no coconut milk and more apple cider vinegar. My husband now dips everything in it!! Bonus is it keeps longer in the fridge. I keep my mayo about 3 weeks and find this will keep that long too, it it lasts. I usually use dried herbs because they are quicker and easier to keep on hand. This dressing is great on air fryer chicken wings as well as a dip for veggies. Thanks so much!
