What Makes This Recipe Great

It’s potluck season, and I don’t know about you, but I’m always looking for new, fun ways to jazz up my appetizer game. I wanted to create something easy, delicious, and travel-friendly. And guys, I’m pretty sure this Prosciutto Wrapped Mozzarella appetizer will win over crowds all summer long!

Prosciutto and mozzarella have a long-standing companionship (see this stuffed chicken recipe)! They are perfect together! So I had to make an appetizer with these two ingredients plus a few more for added flare and flavor.

A slice of prosciutto stuffed with an apple slice, cheese, and arugula and drizzled with a hot honey balsamic dressing that gives it a sweet and spicy kick. Packed with protein and flavor and will keep everyone coming back for more! 

The best thing about this recipe is that it’s so easy to make for a small or large gathering. Simply double the ingredients for a larger crowd, or keep it as is to feed a small group. You are going to love this easy appetizer!

  • Prosciutto: Prosciutto is typically cut into long slices. Make sure to buy it prepared this way so you have room to roll it up. 
  • red apple: You can also use melon or another apple variety if preferred. 
  • balsamic reduction
  • spicy honey: I used the Trader Joe’s brand. Feel free to use regular honey if you don’t prefer the spice. 
  • fresh arugula
  • mozzarella cheese

  1. ​​Add an apple slice, mozzarella slice, and arugula to a slice of prosciutto. 
  2. Drizzle with hot honey and balsamic reduction. 
  3. Roll up and serve on a platter with fresh basil and more honey for drizzle. Enjoy!

  • Because this dish is so versatile, feel free to switch things up as needed. Don’t like spicy? Use regular honey instead of hot honey. Prefer melon over an apple? Use cantaloupe instead of red apple. If you don’t like arugula, substitute a spring mix, romaine, or even spinach.

  • Serve chilled with an extra drizzle of the honey dressing. 
  • You can make this appetizer up to 24 hours in advance and store it in an airtight container until you’re ready to serve. Move the roll-ups to a serving platter and serve!

Servings: 10 roll-ups

Ingredients  

  • 10 slices prosciutto 
  • 1 large red apple cut in half and sliced thin
  • 1/3 cup balsamic reduction
  • 1/4 cup spicy honey I use Trader Joe's brand
  • 1 cup fresh arugula
  • 10 slices mozzarella cheese or cheese of choice (feta will work too)

Instructions 

  • To a prosciutto slice add an apple slice, mozzarella slice and arugula. Drizzle with hot honey and balsamic reduction. Roll up and serve on a platter with fresh basil and more honey for drizzle. Enjoy
