Some nights I will literally dream up new recipes and this pepperoncini dip is a product of a dream! It turned out better than I could have imagined and I know y’all are going to love it. Be sure to add this one to your holiday menu. It’s perfect to prep ahead of time and gets better and better as it sits in the fridge!
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
This pepperoncini dip combines the tang of pepperoncini with a rich, creamy base, that creates a flavor that’s refreshing and indulgent. It’s lighter than traditional creamy dips, so you can enjoy it as a quick snack or an impressive party appetizer.
Plus, this recipe is incredibly versatile and easy to customize, making it perfect for any dietary restrictions. Similar to my healthy ranch dip or hot honey jalapeno popper dip, this recipe is bold, creamy, and completely irresistible.
Whether you’re hosting a game-day gathering or just looking for a healthy spread for your sandwiches, this dip is the perfect choice.
Ingredient Notes
- Greek yogurt or blended cottage cheese: This creates a creamy, tangy base that holds all the flavors together. Dairy-free yogurt is a perfect swap to keep it plant-based.
- Homemade ranch dressing or 1 packet ranch dressing mix: This seasoning adds a savory, herby kick that makes the flavor so darn good. You can use either a homemade blend or a store-bought packet.
- Pepperoncinis: These bring a tangy heat to the dip that makes it pop with flavor – if needed, you can substitute mild banana peppers for a similar effect.
- Pepperoncini juice: A splash of this amplifies the tanginess and ties all the flavors together. You can use a bit of pickle juice in a pinch.
- Green onions: Add a fresh, super mild onion flavor. If you don’t like green onions, swap them with chives for a slightly subtler taste.
- Shallot: Regular onions work great if that’s what you have on hand.
- Garlic powder: A little bit of garlic powder brings an earthy undertone to round out the flavors.
- Onion powder: Just a touch boosts the savory, oniony goodness.
- Fresh garlic. Fresh garlic adds a bold, aromatic punch that really makes the dip pop – you can always add extra if you’re a garlic lover!
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Combine everything in a large bowl and stir until well blended. Cover the dip and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Before serving, top with more diced pepperoncini and green onions.
Step 2: Serve with your favorite dippers such as chips, pretzels, crackers, or vegetables.
Mac’s Pro TipS
Expert Tips
This dip can be prepared a day in advance. Store it in an airtight container in the fridge, and give it a good stir before serving.
I prefer Greek yogurt over the blended cottage cheese for this dip.
For a dip that’s a little bit milder, reduce the amount of pepperoncinis or opt for a milder variety. To make it spicier, you can add a dash of crushed red pepper flakes or finely chopped jalapeños.
If you like a thinner dip, add a bit more pepperoncini juice or a dash of milk (dairy or non-dairy) until it’s the consistency you like.
For a smoother dip, use a food processor or blender.
Serving Tips
This pepperoncini dip pairs wonderfully with:
- Fresh vegetables like carrot sticks, celery, bell pepper slices, and cucumber rounds.
- Whole-grain crackers, pita chips, or tortilla chips.
- Slices of crusty baguette, warm pita bread, or a festive pull-apart cheesy garlic Christmas tree bread.
- This dip also serves as a super flavorful spread for sandwiches and wraps.
Storage Tips
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
Recipe FAQs
Freezing isn’t recommended as the creamy base can separate and lose its smooth texture when thawed. It’s best enjoyed fresh or refrigerated for a few days.

Delicious! Another winning sauce/dip from Mac! My family has a tried and true favorite dish we call pepperoncini beef (it’s just a chuck roast slow cooked with an entire jar of sliced pepperoncini pepers until it can be shredded). Last night we served the pepperoncini beef on slider rolls topped with this ranch. It was a huge hit. Thank you!
This looks amazing!! Can’t wait to try it!! Thanks for your recipes! They are always a hit!
This is so nice. Thank you Stephanie! Hope you enjoy
