What Makes This Recipe Great

Cottage cheese is making a significant comeback these days and people are using it it such clever ways to make lightened-up, high-protein versions of their favorite dips, sauces, desserts, and more! Iโ€™m so darn excited about this trend because yโ€™all know how much I love making lighter, healthier versions of comfort food favorites and today Iโ€™m sharing one that I am obsessed with! Enter, Dill Pickle Cottage Cheese Ranch Dressing

Classic ranch dressing is typically made with sour cream which Iโ€™ve switched out for a container of cottage cheese (or plain Greek yogurt) for a healthy swap. Grab your high-speed blender and a few simple ingredients and this recipe is ready in under 5 minutes..

This delicious ranch is the perfect combination of creamy, tangy, and delicious. It can be smothered on any recipe that calls for ranchโ€“ on burgers, sandwiches, wraps, salads, dips, with favorite veggies, and more! My girls love it as an after-school snack dip. If youโ€™re a ranch lover like us, this recipe is the burst of flavor youโ€™ll love!

Step 1

Add everything to a blender and blend until smooth. I recommend mixing in the blender over the food processor because it has a smoother consistency.

Step 2

Store in a jar with a lid in the refrigerator. This ranch will last as long as the expiration date on the cottage cheese or Greek yogurt.

Mac’s Pro Tip

Expert Tips

  • Cottage cheese has such a mild flavor that it takes to the seasonings SO well! Greek yogurt is also a great option.
  • If youโ€™re dairy-free, use your favorite non-dairy yogurt. Iโ€™d recommend using something other than coconut-based yogurt for best results.
  • I recommend mixing this salad dressing in a blender over a food processor because it will yield a smoother consistency.
  • To make a creamy ranch dip with a thick texture, lower the amount of pickle juice added. If you want to thin it out even more, add an additional splash of milk or a little water to the blender until your desired consistency is reached.
  • There are 4 grams of protein per 2 tbsps of this healthy ranch dip/sauce.

Serving & Storage Tips

Serve with salads, sandwiches, wraps, and more! Use as a dip for potato chips, pita bread, or fresh vegetables like cucumbers, bell peppers, broccoli, snap peas, cauliflower, cherry tomatoes, celery sticks, baby carrots or carrot sticks, and more.

Store in a mason jar with a lid or another airtight container in the fridge. This ranch will last as long as the expiration date on the container of cottage cheese or Greek yogurt.
