What is a Starbucks Pink Drink?

The Starbucks Pink Drink is a super popular drink that was originally a Starbucks’ secret menu item.  It’s made with a Strawberry Acai base and coconut milk and served over ice, offering a dairy-free and caffeine-free option that’s pretty in pink.

It’s one of the most refreshing drinks, and this summer, a Barbie twist makes it even more perfect!

What Makes This Recipe Great

In this drink, two viral worlds collide. One, the Starbucks Strawberry Acai refresher (aka “the pink drink”), and two, Barbie! The long-awaited Barbie movie is finally here, and people everywhere are eating, drinking, and wearing Barbie pink!

My copycat Starbucks pink drink recipe features everything you love about the original, plus an edible glittery pink rim. It’s fun, it’s festive, and it’s PINK!

Even better, you can transform this simple drink into a Barbie Pink cocktail with one additional ingredient, coconut rum.

Ingredient Notes

recipe ingredients labeled
  • TAZO passion tea, unsweetened: This is the base of the pink drink. You can find TAZO teas at Starbucks, local grocery stores, and online.
  • coconut milk: This drink is non-dairy, and coconut milk really adds to the summer, tropical vibe of the drink. However, you can substitute almond milk, soy milk, oat milk, or even regular dairy milk if preferred.
  • coconut syrup: If you don’t have coconut syrup, feel free to sweeten your drink with simple syrup instead. Adjust according to desired sweetness.
  • strawberries: I used freeze-dried strawberries in this drink, but feel free to use fresh strawberries if preferred. You will, however, still need the freeze-dried berries for the rim.
  • edible glitter: You can find this online or at specialty craft stores.
  • honey: This is for the rim.
  • sugar or granulated monk fruit

Mac’s Pro TipS

Expert Tips

  • Juices: I did not include white grape juice in this recipe as I didn’t feel it made much of a difference. Feel free to add a splash if desired. White cran-strawberry juice would also add a nice flavor if you want to try it.
  • TAZO Passion Tea: To get a close-to-perfect copycat, I recommend using TAZO passion tea. Other brands will come close, but not exact. This tea is a blend of Hibiscus Flowers, Natural Flavors, Citric Acid, Licorice Root, Orange Peel, Cinnamon, Rose Hips, Lemon Grass, and Fruit Juice Extract (for Color).
  • Cocktail Version: To transform this drink into a cocktail, simply add 1 oz of coconut rum to your cocktail shaker.
