My little southern soul has a deep love for fried fish. From ages 13-18, I was a waitress at our local fish house. If there is one thing your girl knows, its fried fish and how to do it up right. I wanted to create a healthy version from my childhood and I did not disappoint. My Keto Fish and Chips will make your jaw drop. You will never believe it is Whole30, Keto and Paleo compliant.

Keto Fish and Chips: Crispy cod fillets, ranch coleslaw, jicama chiips, pickles, homemade tarter sauce, and ketchup

Ingredients you NEED to make these Keto Fish and Chips:

  • Cod fillets
  • Almond flour
  • Large eggs
  • Old Bay seasoning
  • Dried parsley
  • Garlic powder
  • Black pepper
  • Sea salt

How to make:

  1. Pat the cod fillets dry. Whisk the eggs in a medium bowl. In a seperate bowl, mix the almond flour, Old Bay seasoning, dried parsley, garlic powder and salt/pepper.
  2. With one hand, dip the fish into the egg bowl, coating the entire fillet, then transfer the almond flour mixture with the other hand. Place coated fish on a platter and repeat until all fillets are coated.
  3. Spray the air fryer with cooking spray and cook at 390°F  for 14-15 minutes. After the first 8 minutes, open the air fryer and flip the fish fillets and spray with cooking spray.  Place the basket back in the air fryer and continue cooking.

Can you cook this fish a different way if you don’t have an air fryer?

Absolutely! You can cook these cod fillets in the oven if you don’t have an air fryer. However, if you don’t have an air fryer, you are MISSING OUT! It is my most beloved kitchen gadget. It’s for sure a must have!

Oven Method:

Place the coated cod fillets onto a baking sheet coated with cooking spray. Cook in a 425F oven for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through.

How to make homemade Tarter Sauce?

YES! In my opinion, homemade tarter sauce is way better than any store bought version! It is super simple to make and includes simple ingredients.

Here is what you will need:

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup chopped dill pickles
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon capers, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoons chopped white onion
  • 2 tablespoons dried dill
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and stir to combine

What are Jicama Fries?

Jicama is a root vegetable, which shares the same color and shape as a turnip. However, they are low in carbs and is great for KETO. To make them, simply take 1 medium jicama and peel and cut into thin slices about 1/4 inch thick. Place in a bowl with olive and season to taste. Bake in a 400F oven for 25-30 minutes. These fries are the perfect low-carb solution that will give you all the feels.
