Homemade spice blends are easy to put together and a great way to keep out any sneaky ingredients, keeping your spices clean and ready for any use! It takes just 5 minutes to make your own with 8 pantry staples. 

This all-purpose blend of spices is really good for…all purposes! Savory dishes like chicken, sauces, burgers, potatoes, fish, shrimp, eggs, pork chops, chicken wings, vegetable dishes, and more! You can’t go wrong with this homemade seasoning mix, and it’s really just so darn easy!

Ingredient Notes

  • Paprika: I use plain paprika and not smoked.
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Sea Salt: I use fine salt. If you use coarse salt (like kosher salt or pink salt), you may need to add more to taste. If you want a salt-free version, simply omit this ingredient. 
  • Black pepper
  • Parsley
  • Oregano
  • Sugar: I like to use monk fruit sweetener or coconut sugar instead of refined granulated sugar.

Expert Tips

  • Make it Fine: If you want a fine blend, add to a blender and blend for 10-15 seconds. 
  • Give it a Kick: If you love cooking with a little extra spice, feel free to add red pepper flakes or a little cayenne pepper to taste. 
  • Make a Big Batch: If you want to make a big batch, simply double or triple the recipe. 

Storage Tips

  • Store in an airtight container with a lid in a cool, dry place like your pantry or spice cabinet for the life span of the seasoning. Keep it out of direct sunlight. It will keep for at least 6 months.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients  

  • 3 1/2 tablespoons paprika*
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons salt fine
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon parsley
  • 1 tablespoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon monk fruit or coconut sugar*

Instructions 

  • Add everything to a jar and mix. If you want a fine blend, add to a blender and blend for 10-15 seconds. 
  • Store in the pantry for the life span of the seasoning.
