What Makes This Recipe Great

If you’ve been here for a bit, you know I am all about making my own homemade seasoning blends instead of buying store-bought versions! You may have tried my dry ranch seasoning, this zesty Italian blend, chicken taco seasoning, and now this all-purpose seasoning recipe

Homemade spice blends are easy to put together and a great way to keep out any sneaky ingredients, keeping your spices clean and ready for any use! It takes just 5 minutes to make your own with 8 pantry staples.

This all-purpose blend of spices is really good for…all purposes! Savory dishes like chicken, sauces, burgers, potatoes, fish, shrimp, eggs, pork chops, chicken wings, vegetable dishes, and more! You can’t go wrong with this homemade seasoning mix, and it’s really just so darn easy!

Ingredient Notes

  • Paprika: I use plain paprika and not smoked.
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Sea Salt: I use fine salt. If you use coarse salt (like kosher salt or pink salt), you may need to add more to taste. If you want a salt-free version, simply omit this ingredient.
  • Black pepper
  • Parsley
  • Oregano
  • Sugar: I like to use monk fruit sweetener or coconut sugar instead of refined granulated sugar.

Recipe Step-by-Step

  1. Add your dried herbs and spices to a jar or small bowl and mix until combined.

Recipe FAQs

What is all-purpose seasoning?

It is comprised of several pantry staples to make a spice blend that goes with just about everything

Because it really is good for all purposes! Cooking with this blend is so easy. It goes with a variety of meats like pork, beef, and chicken breasts or wings, and also salads, dressings, fish, shrimp, and more!
