What Makes This Recipe Great
It seems like ordering a classic Shirley Temple drink is a staple of childhood, and has been since the drink was created in the 1930’s. Me, my girls, my mom, and even grandma ordered this delicious, pink-tinged beverage at restaurants, or on special occasions, got to make them at home.
The drink itself is non-alcoholic and typically consists of ginger ale or lemon-lime soda, grenadine syrup, and a maraschino cherry for garnish. Sometimes, orange juice can be added for an extra twist. It is a sweet drink with a refreshing citrus flavor that is popular with children and adults. It’s also super pretty! I am all about mocktails these days and this one does not disappoint!
The cocktail version of this drink is called a “Dirty Shirley”, and adds a shot of vodka to the ingredients. It’s a delicious cocktail that can be ordered at a bar, or made right at home! Today I’m jazzing things up and making a Frozen Shirley Temple Mocktail Recipe just in time for summer.
All the same flavors, made into a frozen, slushy drink that is perfect for a poolside get-together! It’s easy to make into a fun mocktail or cocktail, so everyone can enjoy it!
