Ingredient Notes
- fresh strawberries
- balsamic vinegar: Use good quality balsamic vinegar– you can find this at any grocery store or specialty market and probably already have it on hand.
- plain Greek yogurt: Or substitute dairy-free yogurt.
- extra virgin olive oil
- honey or maple syrup: Adjust the sweetness to taste.
- Dijon mustard
- lemon juice
- garlic
- chopped onion
- salt and black pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a blender or food processor, combine the strawberries, balsamic vinegar, Greek yogurt or dairy-free yogurt, extra-virgin olive oil, honey (or maple syrup), and Dijon mustard. Blend until smooth and creamy. Give it a quick taste and season with salt and pepper as needed.
- This does yield a thicker dressing. If the dressing is too thick for you, add a little bit of water, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency.
- Transfer the dressing to a glass jar with a lid or airtight container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Shake or stir well before serving. Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Use with any of your favorite salad recipes.

Recipe FAQs
Balsamic vinaigrette and balsamic dressing differ in their ingredients and consistency. Balsamic vinaigrette is typically a lighter mixture made from balsamic vinegar and olive oil, seasoned with salt, pepper, mustard, and garlic. Its flavor is tangy and slightly sweet. On the other hand, balsamic dressing tends to be thicker and creamier, often containing additional ingredients like sweeteners, mayonnaise or yogurt, or other flavorings like fruit purees or spices. This results in a sweeter and richer taste. Today, we’re making a strawberry balsamic dressing that is a combo of both, yielding a creamy, tangy, and deliciously fruity dressing!
Yes! Simply swap out the Greek yogurt with your favorite dairy-free yogurt.
