Why You’ll Love This Recipe

If you’re looking for something refreshing but a little different, this Dragonfruit Refresher is it. It has a smooth, subtly sweet flavor with a hint of citrus and just the right touch of tartness. Coconut water keeps it naturally hydrating, while a squeeze of lime and a pinch of salt help balance everything out. I like to use frozen dragonfruit here; it’s budget-friendly, saves time, and mixes up perfectly. There are no artificial colors or syrups, just simple ingredients that come together into a drink you’ll want to make on repeat, whether it’s after a workout or just because you need something cold and refreshing.

After sharing 29 other flavors in this series, I’m so excited to keep it going! If you’ve missed any, don’t worry, I have a roundup of all the flavors on my website. And be sure to check out my “Gatorade Series” highlight on Instagram for even more flavors. You can also watch the step-by-step video here.

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • Coconut Water: The ultimate hydration hero. Packed with natural electrolytes like potassium, it’s light, refreshing, and helps replenish what your body loses when you sweat.
  • Dragonfruit: Use fresh or frozen—frozen saves time and blends beautifully while still giving that vibrant color and subtly sweet flavor.
  • Lime Juice: Adds a bright, tart kick that balances the sweetness and helps your body absorb those electrolytes.
  • Salt: Just a pinch of mineral-rich salt (I love Celtic Sea Salt) to support hydration and replace sodium lost through sweat.
  • Honey or Maple Syrup: A touch of natural sweetness to round out the fruit flavors—you can swap for your favorite sugar-free option if desired.

How to Make This Dragonfruit Refresher

  1. Add coconut water, lime juice, salt and sweetener of choice to a shaker bottle and shake until combined.
  2. Add 1/2 cup of dragon fruit purée to the bottom of two glasses filled with ice. Slowly add the coconut mixture over the top for a pretty layered look. Stir and garnish with a lime wedge!
