Hearty Hamburger Soup {Whole30, Keto, Paleo}

Whole30 Hamburger Soup

My new Hamburger soup is my new quick go-to dinner. A savory and filling soup that is filled with ground beef, green beans, onions, banana peppers and beef broth. A simple Whole30, Keto and Paleo meal!

Whole30 Hamburger Soup

The other day I went into the kitchen to make chili, and as I begin to collect all the ingredients to get it started, I just wasn’t feeling it. So, that is where my creativity came into play and I started pulling out everything I had in my fridge. I literally just started adding things and tasting as I went, and it turned out better than I could have imagined.

Whole30 Hamburger Soup

This Hamburger Soup is the perfect balance of tangy and savory. The vinegar I added from the banana pepper jar, really brought all the flavors together in this soup. In addition to the vinegar, I also added banana peppers that brought even more flavor and texture to the green beans, tomatoes and hamburger meat.

Tips for making the perfect Hamburger Soup?

  • Using fresh green beans will make a big difference. If you only have frozen or canned green beans, those will absolutely work too, but fresh is always best.
  • Stove Top Version: The longer it simmers, the better flavor the hamburger soup will have.
  • If you are storing this in your fridge, use a glass container. It seems to stay fresher that way.

Where can you find Whole30 compliant banana peppers for this soup?

Finding Whole30 compliant banana peppers may involve a little additional work. My recommendation, is always be sure to read your ingredients and check with the Whole30 additive cheat sheet to make sure it aligns with the program.

Compliant banana peppers I have found are through Thrive Market, Amazon, Whole Foods and sometimes even Walmart. Jeff’s Naturals, Sunraised, and Divina Sliced Pepperoncini’s from Thrive Market.

    This sounds so so good. Can’t wait to try it.

  • Hi! When you say tomato with juice, do you mean diced tomatoes or does it matter?

    • Yes, diced tomatoes with the juice.

  • This was hearty and delicious! A nice change of pace from other soups. I bought pepperoncinis instead of banana peppers by mistake so there was a slight kick to the soup but we liked it that way. Thanks for a great recipe!

  • Just had to say this is one delicious soup!!! The banana peppers in it with the juice really gives it the best flavor. My husband and I will keep this in rotation. Just a note I thought I had 28 oz can of tomatoes but I didn’t. I ended up using fire roasted and a can of tomatoes with green chilies. It’s quite versatile a recipe 🙂
