Viral Cottage Cheese Pizza Toast with Hot Honey
This cottage cheese pizza toast might just be one of my favorite things I’ve ever made. The crispy, golden toast, rich marinara, creamy cottage cheese, and a drizzle of hot honey make every bite irresistible. You’ve got to try this!
Servings: 1 serving
- 1/4 cup cottage cheese I used low-fat Good Culture
- 1 slice sourdough
- 2 tbsp Rao’s Marinara warmed
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1-2 tbsp sun-dried tomatoes
- 1 tsp sun-dried tomato oil
- 1-2 tsp hot honey
- Italian seasoning salt & pepper to taste
- fresh basil
Toast the Bread: In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter and toast 1 slice of sourdough until golden brown and crispy on both sides.
Assemble the Toast: Spread the marinara sauce over the toasted bread and then add an even layer of cottage cheese over the sauce.
Add the Toppings: Drizzle 2 tablespoons of warmed Rao’s Marinara over the cottage cheese. Then, add 1-2 tablespoons of sun-dried tomatoes and 1 teaspoon of sun-dried tomato oil for extra flavor.
Season & Finish: Sprinkle with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste. Drizzle with 1-2 teaspoons of hot honey and top with fresh basil for a burst of freshness.
- Bread choice: Not a fan of sourdough? Swap it for whole wheat bread, multigrain, or even a gluten-free option to suit your taste.
- Cottage cheese: Low-fat cottage cheese works well, but full-fat can be used for a richer taste.
- Hot honey: If hot honey isn’t available, mix honey with a pinch of red pepper flakes or chili flakes as a substitute.
- If you're dairy-free, try swapping the cottage cheese for the cashew cream from this farm fresh chicken feta pizza.
