  • In a wine glass, gently muddle the mint leaves with the lime wedge. Fill the glass with ice cubes. Pour in 2 oz white grape juice (or apple juice), Elderflower cordia or elderflower syrup.
  • Top with 3 oz sparkling water or club soda. Stir gently, garnish with a lime wedge or slice, and enjoy!

Notes

  • Chill your prosecco, sparkling water, and even your glasses before mixing: A Hugo Spritz tastes best icy cold and refreshing - nobody wants a lukewarm spritz on a hot day!
  • Swap the bubbles: Try cava or another sparkling wine in place of prosecco.
  • Make it big-batch: Combine ingredients in a pitcher for easy entertaining, just add the sparkling water right before serving to keep it fizzy.
  • Elderflower options: If you can’t find St-Germain, any elderflower liqueur works, or you can use cordial/syrup for a sweeter sip.
  • Seasonal garnish: Add cucumber slices or fresh berries for a twist.
