Easy Blue Lagoon Mocktail Recipe

This blue lagoon mocktail is a sparkling, citrusy non-alcoholic drink made with blue curacao syrup, lemonade, fresh lemon juice, and lemon-lime soda. It comes together in five minutes, looks absolutely stunning in a glass, and is the kind of drink that gets everyone asking what you made. Perfect for baby showers, brunch, summer parties, Fourth of July, or any time you want something festive without the alcohol.

Ingredients

Mocktail

  • 4 oz lemonade
  • 0.5 oz lemon juice
  • 1 oz blue curacao syrup
  • lemon lime soda or sparkling water (Olipop or Zevia are my favorite)
  • lemon slice and cherry for garnish

Cocktail Version

  • ADD 1-1.5 oz coconut rum or vodka of choice

Instructions

  • Add everything except the lemon lime soda to a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
  • Pour over crushed ice and top with lemon lime soda and a lemon slice and cherry and slice.

Notes

  • Do not shake the soda. The lemon-lime soda always goes in after shaking. Shaking it into the mix will flatten your bubbles fast.
  • Crushed ice over cubed. Crushed ice packs more tightly, chills the drink faster, and gives you that frosty, beachy look in the glass. If you only have ice cubes, that works fine too.
  • Making a pitcher for a crowd. Mix the lemonade, lemon juice, and blue curacao syrup together in a pitcher and refrigerate for up to 24 hours. This is especially handy for Fourth of July parties or baby showers where you want a self-serve drink station. When you're ready to serve, pour over individual glasses of ice and top each one with soda. Do not add the soda to the pitcher or it'll go flat before anyone gets a glass.
  • Cocktail version. Want to make this one for the adults? Add 1 to 1.5 oz of coconut rum or your vodka of choice to the shaker before mixing. The coconut rum is especially good here. If you're building out a mocktail menu for a party, my Strawberry Pineapple Mojito Mocktail pairs beautifully alongside this one.
  • Citrus swaps. Not a lemon fan? Swap the fresh lemon juice for lime juice or a splash of orange juice. It changes the flavor slightly but still plays beautifully with the blue curacao syrup.
