- 2 blocks Boursin cheese
- 2–3 tablespoons heavy cream
- ⅓ cup fig jam or preserves
- 4-5 slices cooked bacon chopped
- 2–3 tablespoons chopped walnuts
- Fresh thyme for garnish
- Toasted crostini for serving
Soften the Boursin in a food processor: Add the Boursin blocks and heavy cream to a food processor. Pulse in short bursts until the mixture becomes soft and spreadable. Avoid over-processing. You don’t want it to look like liquid, just whipped enough to spread.
Toast the walnuts: Add the chopped walnuts to a dry skillet over medium heat. Cook for 3–4 minutes, stirring often, until they become fragrant and lightly golden. Remove from heat and let cool.
Assemble the dip: Spread the softened Boursin mixture into a shallow serving dish. Spoon fig jam over the top. Sprinkle with chopped bacon and the toasted walnuts. Finish & serve: Garnish with fresh thyme and serve with crackers, crostini, or bagel crisp.
- This is a true make-ahead dip, which makes hosting so much easier! You can prepare the whipped Boursin base up to a day in advance and store it covered in the fridge. Add the fig jam, bacon, and walnuts right before serving for the best texture.
- If the dip has already been fully assembled, leftovers can still be stored covered in the refrigerator and enjoyed within 2-3 days, though the bacon may soften slightly over time.
