The BEST Ham Salad Recipe

Perfect for summer days or brunch, this 10-minute ham salad uses 8 simple ingredients, including chopped ham mixed with seasonings, creamy Greek yogurt or mayo, and crunchy veggies. Serve as a dip, sandwich, wrap, or atop a green salad.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups chopped ham
  • ¾ cup mayo or Greek yogurt
  • ¼ cup chopped celery
  • 2 tbsp dill relish
  • cup white onion
  • ¼ cup green onion
  • ½ tsp celery salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Place the ham chunks into the food processor bowl. Pulse the food processor in short bursts until the ham is finely chopped. Be careful not to over-process, as you want a coarse texture rather than a paste. Transfer the chopped ham to a large mixing bowl.
  • Add the celery, white onion, and green onion to the food processor. Pulse until the vegetables are finely chopped, but don’t over-process. Pulse a couple times. Transfer the chopped vegetables to the bowl with the ham.
  • Add in the dill relish, mayo or Greek yogurt, pepper and celery salt. Mix until well combined.
  • Serve on bread, in a lettuce wrap or on top of a green salad.

Expert Tips

  • Variations: Feel free to make this recipe your own with additional ingredients. You can add a bit of Dijon mustard, yellow mustard, or spicy brown mustard to the creamy dressing, use sweet pickle relish or sweet pickles instead of dill, garnish with green onions or red onion, add chopped hard-boiled eggs, and any other variations you see fit. 
  • Ham: This is a great way to repurpose leftover ham after a holiday like Christmas or Easter. You can also use frozen ham (thawed from freezing and drained) or deli ham if that’s what you have.
