  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1.5 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 cup water or more water as needed to thin
  • Optional 1/4 tsp cayenne for extra spicy
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon liquid smoke

  • Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to 7 days.

Whole30: True Made and Primal Kitchen are great Whole30 and Paleo ketchup brands. For Whole30, remove the brown sugar or brown Swerve, as neither of these is compliant.
Consistency: Make this bbq sauce to your desired consistency by adding water. If you prefer a thicker bbq sauce, add less water. If you prefer a thinner sauce, add more water.
Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and use it within 7 days. If you'd like to freeze your sauce, see the FAQs below!
