Description

Keto Fish and Chips with all the southern fixin’s. Crispy cod fillets cooked in the air fryer, golden brown jicama fries, ranch coleslaw and homemade tarter sauce. Only 8 NET CARBS Whole30, Keto and Paleo compliant.

Ingredients

Crispy Fish 

  • (4) 6 ounce cod fillets
  • 1 1/4 cup almond flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

Jicama Fries

  • 1 medium jicama and peeled and cut into thin slices about 1/4 inch thick
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Homemade Tarter Sauce

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup chopped dill pickles
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon capers, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoons chopped white onion
  • 2 tablespoons dried dill
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Ranch Coleslaw

  • 4 cups coleslaw mix
  • 1/2 cup homemade ranch dressing
  • Sat and pepper to taste

Instructions

Air Fryer Fish

  1. Pat the cod fillets dry. Whisk the eggs in a medium bowl. In a seperate bowl, mix the almond flour, Old Bay seasoning, dried parsley, garlic powder and salt/pepper.
  2. With one hand, dip the fish into the egg bowl, coating the entire fillet, then transfer the almond flour mixture with the other hand. Place coated fish on a platter and repeat until all fillets are coated. 
  3. Spray the air fryer with cooking spray and cook at 390°F  for 14-15 minutes. After the first 8 minutes, open the air fryer and flip the fish fillets and spray with cooking spray.  Place the basket back in the air fryer and continue cooking. 

Jicama Fries

  1. Add the sliced jicama pieces to a large bowl. Cover with olive oil and salt/pepper. Mix until everything is combined. Spread out on a baking sheet so they aren’t crowded. Bake in a 400F oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

Homemade Tarter Sauce

  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and stir to combine

  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and stir to combine

Notes

  • Oven Method For Fish: If you don’t have an air fryer, feel free to cook in the oven. Place the coated cod fillets onto a baking sheet coated with cooking spray. Cook in a 425F oven for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through. 
  • Jicama Fries Air Fryer Method: Set temperature to 400F and set time for 15 minutes.Every 5 minutes, check on the fries and give the basket a shake to ensure even coating.
  • Nutrition is calculated for 1 piece of cod and a 1/2 cup serving of jicama fries (8 NET CARBS). Does not include the ranch coleslaw or tarter sauce.
