Who doesnā€™t love a good Snickers bar? I know I do. But itā€™s not the healthiest choice to be eating a candy bar every time you have a sweet tooth or chocolate craving. So I decided to combine a household favorite: chocolate dipped frozen bananas with everyoneā€™s beloved candy bar! Enter Frozen Banana Snickers

This delicious recipe transforms frozen banana slices into healthier candy bars with peanut butter, optional caramel, peanuts, and drizzled chocolate! Itā€™s like ice cream meets candy bar meets delicious banana split! 

I love these, my girls love these, and I am confident you will love them too! Get ready for snicker banana bites to become the most requested treats! Plus, they’re gluten-free, healthier, and have a dairy-free/vegan option.

Ingredient Notes

  • peanut butter: Or PB2 powder mixed with water. You can swap this for almond butter, cashew butter, or sunflower seed butter if desired. Any seed or nut butter will work! 
  • bananas
  • peanuts
  • chocolate chips: Melted with 2 tsp Coconut Oil. You can use dark chocolate chips if desired. For a dairy-free or vegan version, brands like Hu and Enjoy Life have dairy-free versions of chocolate chips. 
  • optional: Sugar free or regular caramel for drizzle.
  • optional: a pinch of sea salt.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Peel bananas. Cut them in half and then slice those halves vertically. Line the sheet pan with bananas in a single layer.
  3. Melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl in 15-second intervals. 
  4. Spread 1 tablespoon of the peanut butter on top of each sliced banana, followed by the peanut butter, caramel (if using), and crushed peanuts, and drizzle with the melted chocolate.
  5. Sprinkle another touch of crushed peanuts on top of the chocolate.
  6. Place the bananas in the freezer for 2 hours or overnight. Store any leftovers in an airtight, freezer-safe container in the freezer. Allow to thaw for 5 minutes before eating.

  • Use white chocolate if desired. This recipe will also work with other crushed nuts, such as walnuts, almonds, cashews, etc. 
  • For a dairy-free or vegan version of these frozen banana snickers, use vegan chocolate chips and vegan caramel like date caramel. Or omit the caramel altogether. 

Storage Tips

Store in a freezer-safe, airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature for 5 minutes before serving.

Ingredients  

  • 1/3 cup peanut butter or PB2 powder mixed with water
  • 3 large bananas
  • Ā¼ cup peanuts chopped
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips melted with 2 tsp Coconut Oil
  • Optional: sugar free or regular caramel for drizzle

Instructions 

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
