Flavorful Buffalo Chicken Patties that makes eating healthy easy and yummy. Crispy patties topped with spicy ranch. Whole30, Keto and Paleo.

Buffalo Chicken Patties

My new Buffalo Chicken Patties makes eating healthy so easy and yummy. I like to pretend I am a chef sometimes and try to get real fancy and make pretty Whole30 and Paleo compliant recipes. I brought my A-Game with this one and it turned out even better than I imagined.

a large stack of chicken patties with spicy ranch drizzled over the top.

These Buffalo Chicken Patties may look extravagant, but they are one of the easiest meals to throw together. They can serve as an easy weeknight meal or even a great appetizer for a family gathering. Even though these are called “Buffalo” Chicken Patties, they aren’t too spicy. My 5-year-old enjoys them. If you aren’t a spicy fan, you still may want to give these a try.

Ranch makes everything better, it’s like the unicorn of food. My Whole30 Southwest Ranch recipe can totally transform an ordinary meal into a majestic and delicious recipe. I drizzled my patties with this ranch and it was the icing on the cake. It made them explode with flavor.

Can you freeze these Buffalo Chicken Patties?

Yes! These are great to meal prep on Sunday or even at the beginning of the month and throw in the freezer for quick and easy meals. I simply store in a freezer proof container without the ranch on top. Then I will heat up in the oven or microwave until warm and drizzle with fresh Spicy Ranch dressing.

  8. Hilary says:

5 Star review from my entire family. Thank you sharing. I will absolutely make this time and time again.

  9. Helen Sprott says:

I wonder if you could use turkey instead of chicken in this?

    1. Ashley McCrary says:

I think it would be great!

  10. Sheila says:

This was so delicious and easy! Loved it!

  11. Alima says:

For the people asking about substitutes for tapioca, you can just omit it all together. I did and they were delicious! I always omit the flour from any of my meatball or burger recipes – the egg works as enough of a binder and the flour is uneccessary.
Again, these were delicious – making them again this week!

  12. Kelly Spears says:

Has anyone tried this with turkey instead of chicken? Are they still delicious (i love them with chicken. It have turkey to use)

    1. Claire says:

I make this recipe with chicken or turkey all the time! Just depends what I have on hand. Amazing with both kinds of meat. Perfect meal prep.

      1. Ashley McCrary says:

This is so great to hear! Thank you

  13. Allison McCallie says:

These are so good! My daughter is asking me to make these again. Do you happen to have the nutritional information for this recipe?

    1. Ashley McCrary says:

The nutritional info for all my recipes should be up within the weekend. That is the feature that was just added but I have to do a few tweaks.

  14. Melissa Clark says:

Y’all! Hubs and I ❤️these chicken patties! If there’s only 2 of ya it makes a lot BUT they freeze great which makes it nice to pull out on a busy evening! The spicy ranch was killer! Def. plan to make this recipe soon, you won’t regret it!

  15. Jessica Yagi says:

This is one of my favorite breakfast recipes. I made it for the first time when I was on a round of whole30 and then it was so easy and delectable that they have stayed around in my menu plans. They are the perfect amount of spicy for my daughters (age 5 and 8) and can easily be topped with more hot sauce for even more of a kick.

  16. Megan says:

This is one of our family favorites. We make it about once a week. We have made it with chicken and turkey both are delicious. All of Ashley’s (Healthy Little Peach) sauces are great but this spicy ranch is my favorite on just about anything!!!

  17. Lauren says:

This is, hands down, one of my favorite things to cook! It’s easy, delicious, and re-heats so well for leftovers!

  18. Lauren says:

I think I forgot to give it 5 stars! I’d give it fafillion if that were an option 😉

  19. Caitlin culp says:

Can’t wait to make these! Wondering if I can use ground chicken breast that’s already cooked? Accidentally chopped the cooked chicken breast up too much in food processor 😝 and now trying to find a yummy recipe where it won’t taste weird..it’s like finely ground cooked chicken breast!

    1. Ashley McCrary says:

I would recommend using raw chicken to form the patties. I am not sure how the cooked would turn out.

      1. Brandi says:

These were delicious, and were requested by my husband to add into our meal rotation list. I have already made the spicy ranch several times to use for veggies and dip!

        1. Ashley McCrary says:

This is so exciting to hear. Thank you

  20. Abby says:

Just made these on the grill, cooked on aluminum foil, 4 min each side. Then transferred to grill for 4 min each side.
Approved by my chicken wing loving husband and 4 kids!

    1. Ashley McCrary says:

This sounds so good. Thank you for letting me know it was yummy.

Wow, this made my day! Thank you

  22. Jennifer H says:

    1. Ashley McCrary says:

SO happy to hear this. Thank you

  23. Kara Boespflug says:

Can these be made in an air fryer? If so, thoughts on temp/time?

    1. Ashley McCrary says:

I would do 12 minutes on 400F. Make sure to test the internal temp. It should be 165F

  24. Lara A says:

This is such a family favorite in our house! Every time we make it we can’t wait to have the leftovers for lunch or dinner the next day. So so good!

    1. Jackie H says:

      ***ate***

  27. Shannon says:

Any suggestions for egg replacement? We have egg allergy here. Thanks!

    1. Ashley McCrary says:

Hi Shannon…..I really haven’t experimented nor do I have knowledge about egg replacement for egg allergies. Sorry I couldn’t help.

  28. Erica says:

I have made this recipe and my family loved it! Very easy to make, and we served it over spring mix and used the sauce as dressing – great dinner!

    1. Ashley McCrary says:

Hi Erica……thank you so much for the kind words. Isn’t it so fun to make a quick, flavor packed, healthy meal? So glad to know you enjoyed:-)

  29. Liz says:

Whipped this up really quickly and they were a big hit, even for my little girl, who “doesn’t like spicy” and my little boy who refuses to eat meat. In all honesty, I just called them buffalo patties and left out the fact that they’re actually made completely of chicken.

    1. Ashley McCrary says:

YAY!!!!! When our children are satisfied with a recipe and moms knows it healthy as well as tasty….well that’s a winner all the way!!!! Thanks so much for sharing.

  30. Alex E. says:

Love these! So easy and delicious. My husband and i have been doing whole30 and I’m always looking for new yummy meals and this one I’ll definitely be making again!

    1. Ashley McCrary says:

So glad Alex….thanks so much for sharing your kind thoughts!!!!

  31. Heather says:

Our family LOVES these, I crave them 🙂 I’ve used arrowroot flour instead of the almond flour and they’ve turned out great. So yummy!

    1. Ashley McCrary says:

This is awesome to hear! Thank you Heather

  32. Anne says:

Hi. Hope this comment finds you well. I have made these many times and they are awesome but it looks like the recipe was changed. Also, the ground chicken that I get is more than 2 lbs and I use to be able to adjust the chicken quantity in the recipe to get the proper amounts of everything else. Can I find the original somewhere?

    1. Ashley McCrary says:

If you go up in the recipe you will see that it says “Scale 1X and so on. If you click the 2X, it will double the recipe and ingredients for you. This recipe is pretty much the same as the old with slight tweaks. The chicken amount is the same in this recipe as the old.

  33. Amanda Robinson says:

Love this recipe! I make this probably once a month! It’s nice to have something other than just a regular hamburger patty!

    1. Ashley McCrary says:

🙂 Thanks Amanda……..so glad to be able to offer a different option. Have a blessed weekend

  34. Aileen says:

I made these several weeks back and have been craving them since I finished what I made! If I can get the ingredients tomorrow I’m making them in bulk for sure! So much flavor!

    1. Ashley McCrary says:

Thank you so much for your kind words of support Aileen.

  35. Natasha says:

This recipe was so delicious. I made it for my family as one of my first whole 30 recipes–it was a family favorite. After I cooked the patties, I cut them into strips and put them inside of lettuce wraps, they were Delicious. The next day we also used the leftovers for protein on our lunch salads. I would definitely recommend this for anyone and for families. My 2 year old and 8 year old love it.

    1. Ashley McCrary says:

Thanks Natasha…….love when my recipes are a choice of the little ones. Have a blessed weekend

    1. Ashley McCrary says:

You could. I would do 350F for 15- 20 minutes

These are ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!!! I’ve made these soooo many times. My husband always asks for me to make them. We like them for lunches because just salads get boring for us. If you haven’t tried them yet, you’re missing out.

    1. Ashley McCrary says:

This is so kind. Thank you for trying!

  45. Amy says:

I’m not sure why I waited so long to try these. So good! I used turkey instead of chicken and just had to add a little more almond flour because my turkey was so wet. Also realized in looking back that I forgot the mayo and scallions. Oops, still tasted wonderful and we have leftovers for tomorrow.

    1. Ashley McCrary says:

So happy to hear! Thank you for trying.

  46. Katie says:

I will serve with a side salad or steamed green beans.

Hello! Looking forward to making these this weekend! Quick question: my husband is allergic to almonds, what could I sub the almond flour for? Thank you!!
    Bri

  54. Laurinda says:

Do you, by chance, already have nutrition information for the spicy ranch? Thanks!

    1. Ashley McCrary says:

We are in the middle of getting nutrition facts for all my recipes. This will roll out late this year. So sorry for any inconvenience.

  55. Mandy says:

Does the taste change much using air fryer method vs frying in a pan with ghee?

  56. Angela says:

This looks amazing! Can I sub something else for the coconut milk like almond milk? I have had bad experiences using coconut milk and then whole dish tastes coconutty. Even when the recipe promises it won’t, I can still tell. 🙂

    1. Ashley McCrary says:

      You can do heavy cream.

  57. Tania says:

Can’t wait to make these. I don’t have an air fryer, is there another cooking method you recommend?

    1. Ashley McCrary says:

There is both a skillet version and an air fryer version in the recipe card.

      Have a great day
