Dearest Eloise,

I am writing this letter to you, Sweet Eloise so you will always have something tangible, something to hold onto if you ever should need it. As I lay here and watch you sleep, my eyes are filled with tears and my heart is overflowing with love. If there is one thing in this world that I adore above all else, it is you, Sweet Girl. I pray that you always have courage to be exactly who God designed you to be. You will make mistakes in life, but know that you learn and can always grow as a human-being. When you succeed in life, please succeed with a humble heart. Always be a kind voice and spirit in any situation, listen and share your light. Give more than you receive and love more than you hate. Stand firm, have a voice and don’t be afraid to stand up for who you were raised to be. This is an ugly world, and one tiny voice can sometimes make the biggest change.

When you stumble and struggle, lift your eyes to the sky and pray. Above all else, when you feel unloved, lost or scared, know that your momma and daddy think you are the most incredible “princess superhero” the world has ever seen. You are a true gift. When others try to tear you apart, lift them up with kindness. Smile and love life and give others grace. Know that some days it is okay to not be okay. Go to bed and wake up with the hope that good will prevail. Love hard. When you walk into a room let love fill the air and let your light shine bright. There will come a time when others will hurt your heart and make you feel worthless and unwanted. When that happens, come back to this letter and know that you are perfect and loved, so very loved. God has blessed you with this beautiful thing called life. Go take over the world, little girl…you can, you can do whatever you put your mind to. I will be your biggest cheerleader in life and will always encourage, support and love you with all that I am. I want you to know that I love you, Eloise and I am not ashamed to say it a million times. “I LOVE YOU.” I want these words to echo through our house EVERY SINGLE DAY, just so you don’t forget much I adore and love you. I will never be ashamed to hug you, kiss you right on the mouth or yell out the car window as you are walking into high-school, that I LOVE YOU.

As you grow into this incredible woman, choose humility and always serve others. Let the light of God shine through you and be a gift to this mean world. Use your fearless spirit to follow God and the plans He has in place for you. Turn your eyes to your daddy and look up to him. When you find love, find a “good man” that treats you the way your daddy has treated your momma. Only then you will know what love feels like. Find beauty in all things and love every storm you walk through. I promise, there will always be a rainbow at the end. You stole every piece of my heart when you were born and just know that I am lucky to call myself your mom. Be brave, be strong, be fearless and know that you are worth it all. You are my little girl and will always be the love of my life.

XO-Mom
